Ok so..On Wednsday 17, my mom and I planned on getting out of the snowy weather for a few days to go to Tampa. Cmon, how could u pass up the beach right?
Well we got our stuff packed and were ready to go. We were making good time, then ..o no, we hear a big POP. So we pull over to the next exit... Lift up the hood, and one of the radiator hoses had busted. Ok no big deal, we got a passing by trucker to get us a new one. And we changed the oil for a precautionary measure. Problem solved.
So another 5 minutes down the road, the car overheats again..check engine light comes on. so we pull to the side of the interstate. Now the car wont start back up unless we gas it, but immediately dies afterward. So we Call AAA to tow us. They towed us to the closest ''reccomended'' mechanic. This is where the real problem starts....
The mechanic didnt do any diagnostic check, just assumed ok, cars overheating must be the thermostat. puts in a new one. charges 100$....ok .. a thermostat costs 10 bucks, and 10mins tops to install, ive done it before. but not with this jackass..
So we pay, and we're on our way.....
not another 5 mins down the road, the car overheats, battery light comes on, oil light comes on, and the car dies...
We pull over, pop the hood, and call the mechanic to come get us. As were looking at the car the idiot left a fucking clipboard in front of the radiatior..BIG MISTAKE..so it cut the circulation to radiatior which caused the car to majorly overheat . PLUS he didnt attatch on of the radiator hoses which caused coolant to go all throught the engine. so we try to start the car back up and after about 894564 tries it does. But now its blowing white smoke like no other and overrheateing still. So we get it back, but now it has a blown head gasket because he left the clipboard in front of the radiator and all the heat caused it to blow. Greeeat. So we get back to the shop, and well, want our money back. he flat out admitted he messed up the car, but his excuse was "People make mistakes" ...WTF???
So in the midst of arguing about getting our money back he starts to freak, like he was going to hit me or my mom. So all the truck drivers come over and he backed down *thank god*...
So there we were stuck with in the middle of no where with nothing. WEll one of the truck drivers said he was going through savannah, and wold take us there *This is where the car rental place was...So, we took his offer. we got the car to start up and took it to the next exit cause everyone said they would strip our car if we left it. So it was our only choice. Well we start driving to savannah with this trucker and he starts being psycho and weird...I thought we were going to be killed, no joke.
Well we finally get to the airport, go to the rental car part, and well .......what do ya kno, we cant rent a car because they dont accept cash! only major credit cards!!...all we had was cash.
So were both sitting in the airport, crying cuase we dont kno what to do. We tried getting airline tickets, but they were on average 4-500$ each, which we didnt have. We went to the closest hotel and slept there for the night. ..
Next day, we took a taxi to the greyhound station. two tickets from Georgia to pittsburgh...210$. There goes the majoritay of our money....But its the only choice..
So were riding the bus, and had to make some stops. The driver said to get off and get reticketed, so we did. Ends up we werent supposed to, and lost 4hours ....GRRRR...
Well we eventually made it back home. 1 car less than before, all for nothing. didnt even make it to florida.....
Well thats most of my wonderful story...Just made my week sooo much better.
